Granddad is Miri’s best friend. The best thing about him is that he never says no. Granddad can build anything and always takes the blame if anything goes wrong. The worst thing about Granddad is that he’s going south for the winter, like a bird, because a doctor has told him that the south will do him good. The thought of somewhere else being better for Granddad makes Miri’s heart clench. She decides to take matters into her own hands: Miri is going to bring Granddad back home. But how’s she going to get to Spain?
Granddad and Miri is a wonderful picture book about friendship, longing and childlike creativity.
