An easy-to-read ghost story. Just scary enough, just dark enough.
Mum has inherited a cabin from her uncle Gunnar. Simon and his family have only been there a few times, but every single time they arrive at the cabin Simon gets a creepy feeling. He definitely doesn’t want to be there. But it’s the Easter holidays, and they should be spent at the cabin.
During their holidays, Simon’s creepy feeling begins to manifest in some specific suspicions. There’s something happening at the abandoned mountain lodge across the road. And didn’t something seem odd about the other children Simon and his sister met?

«Sidsel Jøranlid has written a really scary story. It's a horror of the good old kind, where the mind is drawn to Norwegian horror classics, like Andre Bjerke's The Lake of the Dead (De dødes tjern).»
BOK365, six/six stars
«That a middle grade book is easily read, is thankfully no hinder for it also being really scary.»
«Sidsel Jøranlid does not give you all the answers, it's up to you what to believe. She has written a story that ranges from the mundane, which the children will recognize, to what can be experienced as scary when it's dark - then she really gives in to superstition and rumours.»
