Sumaya Jirde Ali (b. 1997) is a Norwegian-Somali social commentator, literary critic, playwright, author and poet. For her writing and contributions to the public conversation in Norway, Jirde Ali has received the Oslo Prize Voice of the Year, the Zola Prize, the Words in Borderland Prize and the Norwegian Authors Association's Freedom of Expression Prize. In 2021, she was also awarded the Amalie Skram Prize. Jirde Ali was named one of Norway's most talented writers under 35 by Morgenbladet and Norwegian Literature Festival in 2025. Her debut came in 2017 with the poetry collection Women Who Hate Men.
