Powerful graphic novel about finding your way out of the darkness through sport
Felix moves from Germany to Kristiansund with his mum and little brother. He can’t speak a word of Norwegian and can’t quite seem to settle in. And he can’t invite anyone back home either because he doesn’t know what will be waiting for him there. What state will Mum be in? Will she be drunk? Will she even be conscious?
Felix feels different. He is burdened by a dark secret, a secret he doesn’t want to share with anyone. But the new wrestling trainer Gekken understands him in a totally different way. Even if he comes late, is in a bad mood or doesn’t deliver his best performance, he’s still welcome in the locker room. It’s a place where he’s on the same footing as everyone else, and where he feels safe. Slowly but surely, Felix comes out of his shell and turns out to be an incredibly talented wrestler. But with everything that’s going on at home, can he get as far as he wants to in the sport he loves?
