Men jeg tror dette stoffet likevel kan resonnere i mange av dagens lesere, for vi gjenkjenner den symbolske, overskridende måten å forholde seg til verden på som sann, og kanskje innbefatter den også en mer realistisk oppfatning av menneskets situasjon enn vi får servert gjennom vår teknisk-naturvitenskapelige utdannelse, som Arne Næss påpekte. Det er som om den etiske fordring roper på oss fra disse urgamle gravene: La oss gjøre produksjonsdyr til sjeledyr igjen!
