"Instant Realism" Lars Saabye Christensen called the style of Hilde Stålkjær Osen when she received his debut prize for the novel We just Drive, and Then We See. In her new collection of short stories, we meet characters in the middle of crisis. Life might have gotten stuck on a bad track, they might be looking for different ways out, and sometimes they might see a little hope too; From now on it´s going to be easier.
A woman is longing for the person she loves but might not get. Another has ended up in an unknown place longing to go home. A man is trying as best he can to understand why his wife left him. A mother has had her child taken away from her, but she is still feeling her way for it in her empty apartment. The short stories in From now on it´s going to be easier are written in a straight forward and everyday like language where what is written between the lines are just as important as what is actually written in the text.
