The development of women’s football has taken off in the last few years. Players from the large clubs are considered superstars and people come to stadiums to see their favourite teams. Finally young girls have been given role models they can see themselves in, but the road here has been long and windy.
In this book the authors bring us along on a 144-year-long uphill battle. They deliver fun anecdotes, tragic historical events as well as interviews with some of the most important providers in the development of Norwegian women’s football. In addition to this, they’ve also spoken to some of the biggest stars of Norwegian football.
This is a unique book exploring women’s battle to be allowed to play the world’s best game, not just with a focus on the Norwegian developments, but looking at the whole world. This is an original book on a topic which has not previously been explored to this extent.
