The summer Sigbjørn is 15, he discovers poetry: Wildenvey, Hamsun, Øverland. He becomes quite hooked on it! That isn't easy when he really is a hooligan, a bully and a troublemaker the whole school is scared of.

How can he manage to live this new life in secret while every day he is provoking people, scaring children and working hard to be accepted into Osman's gang? This turns out to present totally different problems from what he had expected, plus some positive surprises, such as his classmate Ling.
