Overview Pepperkakehuset

Don’t tell anyone but children get eaten in this book!

What are you supposed to do when the health clinic where you’re due to spend Christmas turns out to be very different from what you expected? When the kind grownups who are supposed to help you be the best version of yourself clearly have other plans for your stay? They probably want you to be as good as you can be – but good for who?

The Gingerbread House
is about a 13-year-old outsider, Jonas Rusten, who is struggling with his weight. One day, he’s offered a stay at Dr. Dirk’s Health Clinic, which he thinks will solve all his problems.

It starts off fine: the people are great and the food is good. Surprisingly good, in fact. But bit by bit, he starts to feel a creeping suspicion. Shouldn’t they be exercising a bit more? Eating a bit less? Why do the others call him Balder? And what is that weird girl actually trying to tell him?

Reviews Pepperkakehuset

Hårreisende horror 19.03.2024

en spenningsbok med groteske elementer. En skrekkinnjagende motpol til Charlie og sjokoladefabrikken, der også eventyret om Hans og Grete danner et uhyggelig bakteppe.
