Doctor Kristoffer Rødberget returns home to keep vigil over his grandmother’s final days and settle the estate. Growing up, the village locals would seek out his childhood home, Rødberget, for help. Whether it was sciatica, a bad back, or cancer, Kristoffer’s father welcomed them in and laid his warm hands upon them.

When Kristoffer left to study medicine, he also bid farewell to both his home village and the superstition that brought people to Rødberget. But as the returning son, he must face both.

The Salt Lattice is a novel about what binds us together—and how terribly wrong things can go when those bonds break.
