A Jewish-Norwegian girl, Betzy Rosenberg, managed to hide from the German and Norwegian Nazis in Trondheim from the fall of 1942, when the deportations began, all the way until the war ended in May of 1945. She survived right in front of the enemies' noses thanks to a fellow human being who risked his life to hide her.
In the cabin next door, the Nazis were having parties, and Henry Rinnan himself – the leader of the infamous Rinnan Gang – could show up unannounced. Adolescence lost and the rest of her family deported to the concentration camp Auschwitz, this is Betzy's story.

The reason is pretty much because of an event I went to today, which was in the Holocaust Center (it`s called that, but it`s a center for studies of Holocaust and Religious minorities) in Oslo. Stories about humanity and love (…) there should be more history books out there that are written for young people. Most of the history books that I`ve read are academic and therefore not that interesting for people who are 15-25 years old. “The girl in the wall” is a book written for the youth – you learn about history, but it`s more “dramatised”.
