Overview Tolv lysår

Vera is one of 12 people selected to take part in China’s space programme. Only after extensive training and instruction does it become clear that 10 of them will be leaving Earth for good. They are being sent to the exoplanet, Luytens B, in the Canis Minor constellation to seek out life there and establish a space station. Luytens B is 12.36 light years away and is said to be a Super Earth. On her way to the planet, Vera becomes pregnant. She and the captain of the spaceship, Edvard, have followed the programme that was laid out for them: they will become a family.

Twelve Light Years is an astonishing novel – unreal yet utterly natural.
