Overview Ultima Thule

Capitalism has eaten up the Nordics. At the far end lies Ultima Thule, a city created by greedy dollar eyes. It is not a place, but a tourist destination, a Disneyland created by communication agencies, politicians and dubious research communities in geomatics. The main character himself sits on a mountain outside the city with an impossible project in front of him, in the form of a red book. He is to continue the work of the political writer Ellisif Wessel and translate Das Kapital into Sámi. A long time has passed since he presented the project to the capital's foundations and scholarship committees, and they are now demanding their money back. His nerves are fraying. He simply has no choice but to look for Ellisif Wessel's translation in progress.

Thus begins what will become a wild journey around the North Calotte, with sleigh rides across the wide-stretching arctic plateaus, flying reindeer and illegal revue performances. It is an adventurous novel in the carnival tradition, with clear humorous and political features.
