Spring and Beyond (Vår i det hinsidige) is a powerful novel about a young girl's awakening – to sexuality, growth and development, and sudden death. Spring is practising kissing. Experimenting with rubbing her body against the bark of a tree. She is unguarded in her experience of the world. Then death comes knocking, taking someone from her. Is it possible to make contact with the dead? Where do they go? And who is God, really? Spring looks for signs even as everything around her picks up speed, propelling her towards adulthood.
Gine Cornelia Pedersen (f. 1986) received the Tarjei Vesaas First Writers Award for her critically acclaimed debut novel Zero (Null) in 2013.
