This new collection from Morten Langeland is, just as the title suggest - a collection of sonnets from a zoo. The poems relate quite freely to the more captivating frames of the classic sonnet, moving between humans and animals, park and zoo. The poems have both narratives and flashes of images in an obedient, varied and current language. Here we find cheerful life forms like the chill toad and den smart lemur, as well as other, far more sullen species crying crocodile tears for being stuck behind bars. Zoonettes is an investigating, unpredictably playful and polyphonic collection.
