Karin Fossum's latest crime novel Farewell, Farah Diba quickly became a favourite amongst critics when it was published in August last year. On critic called it 'world class', while another noted how impressive it is that Fossum delivered a new novel of such high quality only a year after her previous book. Now, Fossum is nominated to the River Prize, Norway's most prestigious award for crime novels.

The winner of the Riverton Prize is announced on March 14th, and the prize is a golden revolver. Karin Fossum has previously won the Riverton prize twice. «I wish for any author who writes crime with devotion and who works to lift the genre, to one time win the revolver», Karin Fossum says, after learning she's been nominated again. If she wins, she becomes the second author to ever win the prize three times.

In 2022, Karin Fossum was named the all time best Norwegian crime author by the Riverton Jury, and her novel The Indian Bride was voted the second best Norwegian crime novel.
