Frederik Svindland has been nominated to the Tarjei Vesaas First Writers Award for his poetic debut, the novel Pelargonia.

The Jury says: "A rarely sensitive portrait of childhood and youth, where the everyday optics trickle through a language closeness- and love-filter, striking to the reader.

(…) The text is rather a celebration to listening, and sort of making the silence accountable: “When you all of a sudden have nothing more to say, how much else is there not to listen to?”
