Overview De døde ser deg

There are things worse than dying…

Liv, seventeen years old and a Norwegian diplomat's daughter in Tokyo, has the ability to see the dead and conjure up the restless. Everest Brox has discovered this necromancer ability. Brox is a ruthless and impossibly rich young man who owns Oculink, a kind of Facebook to the 10th degree that gives him access to everyone's private lives – and he wants to use Liv's skills to conjure up ghosts who will help him in his search for secrets and secret information – and thus power as well.

Liv and three other teenagers are kidnapped and held captive in Everest's mountain palace, where they practice conjuring up ghosts for Everest's “ghost army”: the eviller, the better. With the help of relentless ninjas, ghost technology and a deceased KGB agent, Everest Brox wants to acquire the world's only cure for an epidemic ravaging the world – and Liv. And when Liv conjures up Snowy, a young soldier from WWI who can make himself just as “solid” as an ordinary person, Everest starts to think the world is at his feet.

Alexander Løken takes the reader on an intense and original journey a few years into the future, but in an entirely different reality. Where no one can sleep safely and where nothing can be kept secret any longer…

Reviews from De døde ser deg

Udødelig fantasy 20.02.2017

"Norsk fantasy-fulltreffer. [...] [...] De døde ser deg treffer målgruppen midt i blinken. Bravo!"Kjersti Franziska Ruud-Salomonsen, Vårt Land

Author Alexander Løken

Born in 1982, Løken made his literary debut in 2014 with The Troll Skull (Trollskallen), the first book in the trilogy about the character Edvard Frost. The two following books were The Serpent´s egg (Ormeegget) in 2015) and The Wolf Hammer (Ulvehammeren) in 2016. The trilogy is timed at the end of the 19th century and the storylines include a lot of the classic Norwegian storytelling and mythology. The books are suitable for children who have just started reading, and enjoy stories filled with action and knowledge.

The Dead can see you (De døde ser deg) published in 2017 is Løkens first book in the Young Adult segment. A both scary and interesting story about a society where your secrets are no longer your own.
Alexander Løken is a productive and creative writer with many more projects coming out in the years to come. He won the first ever Bokslukerprisen for his debut, The Troll Skull in 2014.
