Frank Rossavik has had a career as a journalist, writer, editor and commentator in the Norwegian press. In this book he asks the question: Is Freedom of Speech as we know it – one of the foundations of modern democracy – under a pressure that we have yet to see the consequences of? From the time when most of Political Norway, as well as the Norwegian press, failed during the debate regarding the Muhammad caricatures, Rossavik has been following the development in the public debate with a special focus on self-censorship. How we now have almost rock solid agreements on what you can and cannot say in public. With this book he delivers his points on why we need a more open and free room for debate in the world.
Frank Rossavik (b. 1965) is a political commentator in Aftenposten, as well as a writer of a number of critically acclaimed non-fiction books.
