Entertaining and intense about love
In Klara’s opinion, love is nothing but a piece of crap. It is deeply concerning that her father Frode has no new girlfriend in sight. To make things better, Klara writes a fake love letter to all the single ladies in their neighbourhood – to embarrassing and unexpected consequences. But who is Klara herself falling in love with? She does not really know until a new girl enters her classroom. Marie Lindkvist dances ballet like a matter of life and death. She dances like this is her last dance on earth. Linda Klakken’s children’s book debut is a story about falling in love for the first time, involving school dances, kissing games, and unbearable heartache.
‘To fall in love with someone of one’s own gender is not the main theme of the book. It is described as organic as if this was a crush on someone of the opposite sex, which makes this a good read.’
‘Klakken has written a feel-good novel loaded with exaggerations and humouristic scenes, while at the same time exposing vulnerable undercurrents.’
