Overview Avskjeder med Judith

In Hilde Lindset's new cycle of short stories, we follow author Judith through different phases of her life. She is described through relationships, both near and far. Often the more fringe meetings can say something just as substantial about her – or even reveal something more than those closest to her can see.

Judith is seen quite differently in different environments, which may be because we meet her in different phases of her life – from when she is young to when she is old – or that she, like all people, has different roles – as mother, lover, or hotel guest – but most of all due to the fact that Judith is a very complex person.

For her daughter, she is absent; for her friend, she is seemingly rude and superior, but also somewhat pitiful; and for the German theater director, she is simply a plaything. But whatever situations we find her in, we get an insight into something deeply human.

Hilde Lindset has a remarkable ability to communicate who we are to each other, and to showcase the forces that drive us to act the way we do.

Steinar Sivertsen, Stavanger Aftenblad

"Solid skrivekunst i intimt format. (…)
