Atle Håland's He (Han) is a collection of love poems about he and he: about the boy that has to stand behind the silo and wait for the boy who has just got up on stage to sing with a band behind him. To sing and be a punk star. But after the last song of the encore, when he goes to meet he again, no one can see them. No one is allowed to see them. In the first poem, their hands barely touch. In the last, they have not met for a long time. Everything lies between.
The poems in He are interchangeably warm and cold, about a love that first pushes you away, then embraces you, then pushes you away again, a bit harder, then embraces you again, a bit tighter. The boys have one summer together, a summer with low-key, secret parties in empty holiday homes and other secluded places.
