She has inherited the dog, Lenny, and the cabin from her father. Two years have passed since he died, but this summer something is different. Her boyfriend Nils is camping with friends, and she wonders whether someone else is in his arms.
She takes part in a séance at the cabin with her friend Ylva. She writes three words to herself on a piece of paper and buries it in the bog. Lenny is nearby; she can just about see him in the dark. He’s staring at Ylva, which is strange. Then he jumps, right at her face. Afterwards, he is totally calm again.
All summer she tries to figure out what has happened to Lenny, but is there really an answer? And how is she to wrap her head around where she stands, in her relationship with Nils, in her grief over her father, and in her own life? Is this something she herself can decide?
Lenny is a poetic novel that explores animal and human nature.
