Smut (Smuss) is a collection of erotic comic strips from some of Norway’s best-known comic strip artists.
Style and form varies throughout, but the contributions all share a concern with the beautiful, embarrassing and peculiar aspects of eroticism.
First love, a librarian’s erotic fantasies, a robot’s visit to a brothel and the escapades of a sailor are just some of the stories collected in this collection.
Comics by: Lene Ask, Martin Ernstsen, Lars Fiske, Sindre Wexelsen Goksøyr, Flu Hartberg, Anders Nordmo Kvammen, Sigbjørn Lilleeng, Tor Erling Naas and Inga Sætre.
‘[an] anthology spanning a very wide spectrum, […] The quality is [otherwise] uniformly high, and even though the stories express a lot of anxiety and frustration, the tone is generally positive.’
‘The book is attractive and well compiled. Many of the stories start with us looking at something we’re not supposed to. A nice concept that connects the stories and reminds us of our voyeuristic tendencies.’
‘Smuss is a sympathetic and varied anthology on the subject of sex […] There is a lot of variation in style and narrative, and the new illustrations bring a certain freshness to the anthology.’
