Author, playwright and director Beate Grimsrud is dead at 57.

Beate Grimsrud was born in 1963 in Bærum, Norway. Since 1984, she has resided in Stockholm, Sweden. Grimsrud is regarded as one of the finest and most central Nordic contemporary writers. Her books span several genres, and have been written in both Norwegian and Swedish. Grimsrud has received numerous awards and nominations for her works. Her books have been translated into twelve languages and have received high international accolades.

In April 2020, Grimsrud´ last novel I suggest we wake up was published to the unison acclaim of critics and readers across Norway. The novel will remain a masterpiece within a truly original authorship.

Beate Grimsrud passed away in Stockholm on July 1st, after some time´ illness.
