The Danish poet, Kasper Jørgensen, travels to Norway to meet the famous Norwegian poet, Sigrid Undset. But it starts to rain on the way to Lillehammer and Kasper has to take shelter at the nearest farm. He meets Ingeborg there and falls in love with her. But Ingeborg is engaged to oldest son on a neighbouring farm and Kasper heads back to Denmark disappointed and confused. But this isn’t the end of the story!

The film The Danish Poet won an Oscar for Best Animated Short in 2007.

Torill Kove (1958–) has written and illustrated several childrens books based on her animated films. The animated short The Danish Poet won an Oscar in 2007, and she was again nominated for an Oscar for the aminated short Moulton and me.
