Overview Gravbøygen våkner

During the sommer holidays, Espen and his mother leaves for grandpa's farm. But grandpa's memory has gone a bit fuzzy, and Espen's uncle now runs the farm. To grandpa's raging protests, uncle Svein now plans to cut down the entire Old Forest.

After a strike of lightning, Espen discovers across a very special key in the forest. The key takes Espen to another world: a parallel reality where the scenery looks the same, but where trees, animals and birds can speak, and where pixies, elves, goblins and wraiths appear. But there are dangers lurking in the shadows. If the Old Forest is destroyed, the elves will be defenseless from the Grave Boyg, who wishes to end their kind. The elves have chosen Espen as their champion, but he is reluctant. He has always gone round about any problems. But what the forces of evil do not now, is that there is a girl standing behind him: Eva.

The Mystic Key is the intensely exciting first book of the Sign of the faries trilogy: a stunning Norwegian fantasy that will kick your nerves into high grear and prove that the time of fairytales are far from over.

The series has sold over 30 000 copies and won the Ark Children's Book Prize.

«A great mix of horror and suspense - for young people and adults alike."
